The Hunter plea deal is a mixed bag, btw

The gun plea, where Hunter lied on his 4473 Instacheck application that he was not a drug user… Conservative cranks want to flog the horse that goes, no one else would have got off so easily on this with the diversion agreement yada yada. Well, the heuristics and the data (or anecdotes) on that crime make it such that’s not a proper conclusion you’d actually ever come to, if you’re reality based. (!me) The crime of lying on the form exists right, yeah, it’s codified. But it’s not something that’s charged often, maybe what, a couple dozen cases at the federal level over a few years? If that? See, if you have a gun criminal to charge, maybe he/they uses drugs and maybe they bought at the retail level and lied on the form, but those attributes need to have a prosecutorial nexus and you have to have the US DOJ / AG / BATF there to charge it. It’s to say, at the Federal level usually they just get charged with their street crime of drugs or RICO or gun trafficking, but not for lying on the 4473. Lying on the 4473 drug question is just seldom a piece of practical prosecutorial crime fighting.

What happened with Hunter Biden was, the thing with the gun he bought retail and lost on a coke binge in 2018 became known. Ya know, to based reality observers at least… IE, a reliable set of facts on it could be found in the conservative press, with some centrist reporters to acknowledge that as real. So it was real. Then when Joe Biden was campaigning / elected, and Hunter Biden wrote his autobiography (!)…

(!) Tangent. I mean, WHAT. THE. FUCK. Hunter Biden writing an autobiography and a publisher being involved in that piece of shit. I’m not saying Hunter is a piece of shit. That perhaps speaks for itself. It’s unnecessary for me to say. But an autobiography of this guy. Hoo boy….

So he wrote an autobiography, ya know, his travails with alcoholism and drug use, and he described how he was coked out all 2018 if not the years bookending that. And conservative researchers read the book. AND… The gun thing where Hallie Biden (!) threw it out in an alley dumpster and the Secret Service tried to clean the mess up had happened during the 2018 coke binge.

(!) Hunter Biden was banging his dead brother’s ex-wife yo. That’s also a signal about this family that’s not being observed properly by the left as a matter of the left’s willful obtuseness.

The gun thing there was such a wild, bizarre story, and it was in a documented coke binge, conservative axe grinders started going, ya know, he obv lied on his 4473 and you could charge for that, DOJ… And you’d be doing that if you really cared about prosecuting gun crimes and you’d be doing that if this wasn’t Hunter Biden.

Upshot…. Akshully, if you can have the other details of the story without the guy being Hunter Biden, no, the DOJ wouldn’t have charged for lying on a 4473. Pro prosecutors wouldn’t have gone this way with a different guy. They got buffaloed into it by the conservative press and MAGA because the guy was Hunter Biden (! and there’s an autobiography) and there’s a lot of pressure in the moments of the last few years to have court actions that show political even handedness. Duh on that, obv.

It does happen to be that the gun charge gets worked out in a pretty painless manner, and IDK if that’s kosher, fer what it is now that its prosecuted. I can actually give the DOJ a pass there. Its fine. But it does give them an easy way out on the holistic problem of Hunter. Look! We charged him!

The taxes… I think the right way to understand the facts, is the DOJ dragged their feet so long on “investigating”, and Hunter knew about it, that Hunter pre-emptively filed an adjusted tax return showing all his income for the years in question and paid his taxes (! his depraved Hollywood sugar daddy, in truth!). On millions of dollars.

So yo akshully, he committed a crime of felonious tax evasion at the start, and he could have been charged for that, but wasn’t. He wasn’t “just late on his taxes” Kevin Drum. And DOJ gave him a sweetheart deal on that, because of who the President is and who the dept is institutionally aligned with. That’s real.

Ya know, I know DJT is a piece of shit and I didn’t vote for him, but I don’t truth bomb him and his people here. I do this, I’m interested in it, in this double standard, in Joe Biden not being nearly the man or Democrat he’s given credit for by his voters.
