Guy got his car with a GoFundMe that some savvy internet kid put together.
We’ve seen these happy endings from viral stories before, and it’s nice. This also needs to be said: Man has a professional job at a small footprint injection molding plant, of the type that I’ve observed thriving over the last 40 years. Guy makes $10.55 an hour. $20k a year. That’s too little, he’s being exploited. It’s incumbent on this man’s employers to give him a raise, and I don’t see any reason they can’t give him a $5/hr raise on the spot. The refutation of that is for sure… but but but that’s the market wage for this labor in this market…. Baloney. You can pay him a seniority based premium for superior attendance, punctuality, and conscientiousness. You’re buying superior labor quality with that money.
