I’m building my dad a six-shooter for his 70th on 9/9 . This is it, frame just came back from a jobber in Illinois who did the finish. mtf

Did I ever tell you that i used to know this guy (back in the mid 1970’s) who custom made .44 auto mags? He was a friend of a friend, and we spent a weekend with him shooting his collection of handguns……

Thats very cool, bespoke artisanship just floors me. But .44 is almost too much gun for me, I like .22s

Custom made is kind of my bailiwick, though I am not elite in my own right…yet.

After about an hour of shooting .44’s, my hands were shaking uncontrollably….so, yeah, i agree with your point.

I grew up shooting a .22 rifle at whatever was floating down the Missouri River from the bluffs at my grandparents house on the Missouri side near Alton IL. Bout as safe as you can imagine it–the river was about a mile wide, and the channel for the barges was on the other side–not a whole lot of boat traffic.
