The Upton Plan Vote

261-157

39 Dems votes yes.

In the Minnesota contingent…

The populist vote to cast is ‘yes’, but if you’re a Democrat you only make that vote if your district is competitive.  Minnesota Dems Nolan, Peterson, Walz vote yes.  Nolan’s district remains fairly blue, but he has a credible, charismatic, populist challenger – Stuart Mills.  Walz and Peterson are ‘centrist’ Democrats in nominally red districts.

It’s intriguing to ponder how Franken would vote if confronted with a vote in the Senate.  He’s a liberal’s liberal, but you figure he’d have to do some counterintuitive pandering and vote yes also.
